The year is 1955. The location: the Sutton farmhouse outside of Hopkinsville, KY. A group of family and friends were gathered inside when one person saw a streak of light in the sky, a streak that landed over the ridge in the distance.
Later, the group would report the home being surrounded by 3ft tall green men with large heads, widely set apart eyes that glowed, with long arms and taloned hands. They peered through the windows, floated along the ground, and avoided the shots fired at them by the scared family. These invaders watched the farmhouse for nearly 4 hours before the group escaped and headed for the police station.
This story quickly reached beyond the state lines and has become one of the notable reports in the field of Ufology, not only because of the amount of witnesses but because of the length of the experience.
Despite being reported as an alien encounter early on, we now know these visitors as the Kelly-Hopkinsville Goblins, or the Kentucky Goblins. And they are making their way east to our storefront in just a few weeks.
These mugs are handmade, thrown on the wheel
and the shape of the Goblin was designed & drawn by our owner, Carvel.
Each mug features the iconic yellow eyes, and a background of dark colors whirled together with a gooey glaze to create the look of a farm in the dark countryside. These mugs will hold 10-12oz of liquid, and are microwave & dishwasher safe.
Please note that the size of the item and the exact look of the glaze will vary slightly from the photographed shown. This is part of the handmade process and makes each piece truly unique. If uniformity is important to you, we suggest you order all items intending to be matched at the same time.
